Lol Iggy was playlisted like 2 weeks before the release, Calvin's been playlisted literally ever since his song premiered and the track is prob not out for another month (?) so not a fair comparison (not to mention different genres/artist popularity).
Fancy has probably never been played half as much as Summer but that's not the point, Radio 1 has always playlisted Iggy's singles (which has helped with exposure) but she never even makes the
top 40 airplay chart unlike all the other truly big songs that will for sure make it to top 10 so she never gets a "real" chance to compete with them either throughout the week (which is what I was referring to in my previous post). Plus once again no Capital support.
But I hope you're right and being playlisted/eventually charting is better than not being playlisted/charting at all, I was trying to go for something else though. I feel like the UK radio basically decides what tracks happen/hit #1 etc. based on airplay (especially for new/more unknown acts but sometimes I feel like even the bigger ones).
