Britney has impressive stats for the first half of her career, yes.

But in terms of fame status and longevity Beyoncé wins. She has lasted longer than Britney (Britney's last eventful album was FF. I'm not hating but I know this, her stans know this and her label knows this).

Beyoncé is still a global force (hence why she could actually tour with her last album and sell well). All the albums Bey and Brit released close ro one another, Bey sold more.

Bey is still a pop culture icon.
I'm not in anyway discrediting Britney's past success but if we're gonna consider Britney a legend, it only makes sense to consider Bey one. My theory is thaf those who don't consider Beyonce a legend are only believing this because she still is slaying. Usually an artist is only considered a legend once they're dead or their career isn't really that lively. So if Beyoncé were to start TRULY flopping (ans I mean a real flop; not the type of flop people who consider 4 a flop as), then she would get her lwegnd status to these people. It's ridiculous tbh.

Beyoncé has now reached her in the zone era.

Both are pretty much icons and LEGENDS. Everyone knows them. even if Britney isn't at the Level of fame she used to be or if one of them is more talented in terms of singing and performing (no shade), it doesnt really matter. both reached such high levels in their careers and only few people will come close.

Beyoncé is a legend in my book whereas Britney is an icon, and no one or anything will change that. End of story.

Neither are legends, and only Beyonce will become 1 in the far future. These random stats mean nothing. The likes of Aretha, and Etta are legends, and they haven't even sold 100 million records.

The point is, that Beyoncé never stopped being popular. she pretty much constantly had a lot of media attention, sales, high grossing tours, films, songs etc. Even in her "underperforming" era 4. Also singers, who we call Legends today haven't sold 100 mil albums either. its not about peaking high, selling a **** load and then brag with the receipts forever.
