Endurance (Season 1) | WINNING TEAM: Remmy & Truth Teller
Welcome to my newest game on ATRL -- Endurance! Endurance was a TV show aired in the USA during the mid-2000s for six seasons. It was basically "Survivor" for teenagers, and offered plenty of action-packed challenges and twists throughout its airing. I am so excited to bring this format to ATRL, and I hope you are too! Here is a basic outline of how the game will work:
The Contestants
I would like the amount of contestants to be in the 18 to 22 range. I will not accept any more than the first 22 signups. If there are less than 18 people interested, I will figure something out. If you are interested, please feel free to sign up! Just remember that I am expecting all of the contestants to be active, dedicated participants in this game. Please don't sign up and waste a spot that could have gone to someone who really wanted to play.
Please add your username on one of these two lists. Next to your username, add a celebrity (preferably a musician, but any celebrity works) that you would like to use as your character throughout this game. Please note that there needs to be an even number of male and female characters. As such, there are two separate lists for you to sign up for. Signups will close when all the spots are filled or in three days (whichever comes first).
Male Characters:
Example: Element - Justin Timberlake

The Right to Stay Challenge
After signups are completed, you will all compete in the first individual challenge -- The Right to Stay challenge. In this challenge, at least two male characters and two female characters will be eliminated immediately from the competition. This challenge might be LIVE. More information will be available after signups close.
Team Selection
One of the interesting aspects of Endurance is that, after the individual Right to Stay challenge, you will be split into pairs -- one male character and one female character on each. This pair will be in tact until the end of the game. You will compete as one entity, and be eliminated as one entity. That means that TWO ATRL members will be the official winners of this tournament as the one pair that remains at the end. Another challenge will determine the formation of teams. Each team will be assigned a color that will become their official title throughout the competition.
Endurance Missions + The Samadhi
You will compete in your teams of two in Endurance Missions. The team that wins the Endurance Mission will win the Samadhi. The Samadhi contains something that will negatively impact another team during the next challenge -- The Temple Mission -- which determines who is up for elimination. You do not want to receive the Samadhi, as it shows that you are on the outs in the game, and can make it extremely difficult to win the all important Temple Mission. In addition, the Endurance Mission will offer a prize of the previously eliminated team's Pyramid Pieces. The team that wins the Endurance Mission will win all of these available pieces.
Temple Missions
You will also compete in your teams of two in Temple Missions. The team that wins the Temple Mission will win the right to send two other teams to the Temple of Fate, where one of the two vulnerable teams will be eliminated.
The Temple of Fate
The two teams sent to the Temple of Fate bring with them all pyramid pieces (see below) they have won up to that point. In a variant of the Rock, Paper, Scissors game, the teams select fire, wood, or water (the elements -- appropriate for me, right?) to defeat one another in a best 2 out of 3 match. The elements work as such:
fire burns wood (fire wins)
wood floats on water (wood wins)
water puts out fire (water wins)
The first team to win two rounds wins the elimination round and will remain in the game. The losers are immediately eliminated. The eliminated team's pyramid pieces will be up for grabs in the next Endurance Mission.
Pyramid Pieces
These are pieces that represent the different qualities that it takes to win Endurance. The qualities will be announced at a later date. Earning these pieces is a critical part of winning this tournament. The team that goes into the final challenge with the majority of the pieces will have a much better chance of winning the final challenge.
The Final Challenge
For the Final Challenge, the final teams go to the Temple of Fate with all the pieces they have won. These pieces are now used as chips to play a shell game type challenge.
The team with fewer pieces starts by placing pieces by a group of pyramids, one of which has the gold pyramid under it. That team may claim as many as it wishes but must leave at least one pyramid unclaimed. The team with more pieces must claim the pyramids that its opponent did not claim. At this point, the gold pyramid is revealed, and the team that has claimed it wins all the pieces that were played on the board. There are three pyramids to start the game, and one more is added every round thereafter. The team that gets all the pyramid pieces wins the competition!
Any questions? Ask away!
I look forward to this inaugural season of Endurance!
