So, a lot of the bubblegum pop that was released in this period was terrible, but I think we all knew it? And, really, American music was so much better before "urban" music invaded Top 40 radio, and melodies and hooks went out the window.
So let's appreciate it! I chose 98 as the cutoff, so sorry Spice Girls/Hanson/Robyn etc, but let's talk about the period when TRL reigned and everything was truly disposable loveliness. 9/11 changed everything, tbh.
Anyone in the UK remember Justin? (NOT Bieber) actually its virtually impossible to Google some information on him without getting mostly results for Bieber Anyway he was a 14 year old mixed race popstar who had a song called "Over You" (?) - it was so long ago, 1999 I think?! I was around 7 and in love with him
I loved this song and I think it still sounds good today.
