She was so, so, soooo exciting. Such a breath of fresh air in the industry. She reinvigorated the importance of innovative fashion in music, and the importance of music videos. Pre-Gaga music videos just featured girls in basic t-shirts & skinny jeans. Not to mention music videos just featured people dancing, and it was often interlaced with scenes of the movie it was promoting.
I miss this Gaga. She reinvigorated the industry and made everyone step up their game. The only problem is, everyone ended up overstepping their game and now they're all overtaking her...

Yes it is. I said she reinvigorated it, not created it.

You never see this any more (edit: except for Britney with Ooh La La ) Lady Gaga reinvigorated the importance of visuals in pop music videos. She didn't create it like Madonna did. But she reinvigorated it, which is why the initial comparisons were made.
Not ALL music videos prior to her debut were basic and boring though. Gwen Stefani was huge on the importance of visuals during the L.A.M.B era and The Sweet Escape era. But a lot of music videos were basic. They had no storyline. No concept. It was just people dancing to the song in a room or a club.
We all know that Gaga's been in a huge nose-dive decline since early 2011, and hasn't been able to get back up, but to deny her impact on the industry between mid-2008 and late 2010 is just ignorant.

LOL BYE.
And LOL at you picking five videos from thousands of videos. There were amazing videos before Gaga with storyline and concept but you didnt bother posting them. And i cant at you calling Gwens music video basic tho.

Yes, I only picked 5 videos because I wasn't going to post 1000 videos to support my argument.
I'm not even a Gaga stan. In fact a lot of Gaga stans don't like me. If you go to the blogs section, you'll see my username in "most likely to find in a Gaga thread" because they consider me to be such an obsessive hater.
I swear, it's like people on this website don't know what the word "reinvigorated" means. Yes, there were amazing videos before Gaga with story lines and concepts. Did I say "Gaga created music videos that were highly conceptual, with a lot of fashion and strong narratives"? No. I said she reinvigorated it, because she did. To deny her impact on the industry in 2008 and 2009 is what's delusional.
For years we were used to seeing pop stars appear on TRL in normal fashion. Look at what she's wearing in this TRL piece. That's not normal fashion. That's edgy. I'm not delusional because I'm not a stan. I'm being objective because it's just the truth?

Wrong.
and the FIVE (!) examples you cherry picked aren't doing your opinion any favours, either.
