Way of Dragon 1972: why did Colt deny to surrender?

In the final fight of the film, after injured and disabled Colt; Tang Lung (Bruce Lee) gave him a chance to surrender. If Colt agree to surrender, he can survive the fight and seek a hospital. However, he denied to surrender and died
