The simple fun and enjoyment of it. Do you think it's degraded online?
A small epiphany I just had, makes me say yes.
With Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, online forums such as here, etc...
It's become a war more than anything.
and No, I'm not talking about war between the "haters" of what/whoever you're a fan of. That's kind of needed since this world isn't a fantasy land with rainbows and colored roses blooming everywhere. We
have to have the naysayers.
It's a war v.s. the person/place/thing you're a fan of and yourself.
Look at Rihanna on her Twitter and all the time she takes replying to all the indifferent comments she recieves from her own fans/supporters at times. *not saying ALL of them are fans, I know they're some sick haters talking to the girl on there* All because they feel Rihanna owes them something personal or some other deal.
It's not taking comments you disagree with and it's consequences too serious or to the heart. Other way around. Maybe we are taking entertaiment too seriously to do such ****ery and ruin our own enjoyment in being a fan.
THE MOST is done when we are unpleased, dissatisfied with whoever and whatever.
And some are left with a dilemma of quitting support of whatever they are supporting.

I think the internet makes fandom a joke. It's not enjoyable when you have to be called out on your acts by you're idol.
