although she is a pop icon, a huge album seller, and have succesful tours, her singles didn't sell as much as Katy Perry, Rihanna, or Gaga.

and this is not flamebait or anything, I love Beyonce and think she is an amazing and talented pop star and icon, I was just wondering how comes her singles sales are bad.

DRUNK IN LOVE was actually a good song, that's why people bought it. I can see why the other songs flopped because her and her team were lazy.

I think you'll find it's actually quite hard to sell "quick lil singles". So many songs go nowhere. It takes a lot of power and appeal to send a song straight to #1. Her streaming is lacking too (necessary nowadays, sales are dead).

By the way she is not a huge album seller at all. Lemonade has sold the same as ARTPOP and it won't sell much more.

That's also very true. Some people think being a streaming force (like Rihanna) is easy but it really isn't. It requires genuine, authentic interest and appeal. Having 100s millions consume your music by choice is more impressive (and not easy)!

Beyoncé needs to release her songs to streaming services. Tidal is not the tea.

Because they prefer buying her albums and concert tickets.

Sorry and Formation will sell a million by the end of the year. That's not struggling these days.

OT: She's the best-selling female singles artist of her generation for a reason. She also racks up the best catalog sales for the same reason.

Her songs aren't commercial. It's not like she needs the money from single sales either She's one of the best/consistent album sellers of the main pop girls and is only second to Madonna in touring. It's tours and albums that make you a legend not quick little hits.

No she isn't. Beyoncé debuted in 2003. She's of the same generation as Rihanna and Taylor, both have been selling more singles than her since at least 2006 and their recent eras (8th and 5th albums) got #1 hits.

But 1989 sold 5x more than Lemonade and had multiple smash hit songs. 25 had a #1 too.
