So do you guys think Beyonce is using controversy to re/gain some buzz?
King B once said that she wasn't in favor of controversy. However, 2013 has been a pretty controversial year for King B(provocative pictures and vulgar lyrics). Thoughts?

Yep. She also is taking control of her brand and morphing into touring artist territory.
The Madonna influence is so obvious now. Let's not even get into how the Lady of the Manor/ Marie Antoinette Victorian theme she's going for is totally a homage to The Re-invention Tour and Vogue
I actually was about to make a thread that said, "Has Beyonce Become The Most Controversial Artist of 2013?"
It's not even just GQ and "Bow Down." Even the Inauguration and Superbowl caused "controversy" for the lipsync issue and the Illuminati/Blackout situation. I think it's just the pop culture universe showing favor for Bey! She hasn't had this much initial buzz for an album since "Deja VU" and B'Day dropped.
Beyonce has always been under attack, but now she's using that to turn it to some publicity. This is a sign of her still being relevant tbh.
I mean when will our faves send the whole internet in a frenzy from just 2 snippets?
Its interesting she is using controversy this far into her career.
A few years she swore that she would remain classy which meant keeping her clothes and being less sexual if you will(unlike Britney, madonna, christina)
However King B must have had a change of hearts. WHy?
Beyonce is definitely the most controversial artist of 2013. I don't think she planned it ( like the Inauguration and SB light going out she couldn't plan) but I DO think she's not doing anything to stop it and letting the controversy work for her. She just doesn't care about pleasing other people anymore. I really expect her to end up being #1 on Forbes after this year.

I agree on that. I actually prefer Beyonce as her manager because is she taking a lot more risks it seems. I'm excited to see what else she has up her to sleeve to get us talking.
