Rihannafan's House Of Pretension. Top songs (TOP ALBUMS)
On a night a little bit more somber than the average night, but still light enough so as to not raise any suspicion, a bunch of celebrities were kidnapped and taken hostage in the house of pretension. They were separated, based on their merit and divided into 4 categories, occupying a room each.
If you go in and open the first door on the left, you'll find it.
The first room is the hall of acclaim. A room where the artists who released the best songs of the year, 50 songs to be exact, were gathered to enjoy their successful and acclaimed year. Snacks and cocktails were made available.
Then you go out and shut the door behind you.
If you open the door in front of it, strange things are waiting for you inside. Depending on the instance, hellish creatures may appear.
Stranger things could also happen.
In that room, the artists with the most abhorrently bad songs will be assembled. They will scolded for releasing such bad songs and encouraged to improve themselves in the future.
Now, you go out of that room. The doors will strangely shuffle.
If you go further down the hall, and you open the door to the left, you'll see a huge room for of screens. That's where the best TV shows will be played over and over. Ten of them to be exact. There will be an overflow of cinematic dexterity and finesse happening in this room. You won't want to miss it.
Finally, we have the big room. The room where only la creme de la creme made it. The room in which the artists are able to change the tide of the water, move the sun, turn our planet back into pangea state. These artists have proved themselves worthy of being in the hall of fame.
While taking this tour, you might be allured to this room by aged spirits that take the shape of two cute twins. Don't go there at first, you have to visit these rooms in this order.

10 Worst Songs of 2016:
10. Beyonce - Forward
A waste of a great talent (James Blake's)
9. Lady Gaga - Million Reasons
Lady Gaga singing a ballad is like like trying to screw in a screw with a hammer. It doesn't really work.
8. Sia - Any song from her really
Yeah, no comment.
7. Maroon 5 ft. Kendrick - Don't Wanna Know
The trend hopping is really irritating.
6. Tinashe - Superlove
It's Tinashe
5. Taylor Swift & Zayn - A really long song title
Taylor, stick to guitars and Zayn, stick to having your voice drowned out by the other members in the group
4. Nicki Minaj - Black Barbie
I haven't heard it but it's Nicki
3. Bruno Mars - 24k Magic
We get it. You became arrogant and forgot what good music sounds like
2. FKA Twigs - Good To love
Okay.
1. Britney spears - Private show
More like public ****.
20 best albums
20. Lamentations – Moses Sumney
"Lamentations" is a solid effort from Moses, albeit a bit contrived. It tries to present a healthy balance between a myriad of sentiments like grief, hope and perseverance, but ultimately, it feels more like meandering reminiscences rather than lamentations.
19. Conscious - Broods
Despite its flaws, Broods’ music works very well as a concept. The vocals are enjoyable and the beats are refreshing but still familiar enough to evoke comfort in the audience.
18. Paradise – White Lungs
I’m not usually into rock music but this is fused with invigorating melodies and some top notch vocals.
17. Songs for lovers to sing to - LUH
I don’t really like to use the word “rawness” to describe an album because the word is overused but it truly fits in this case. This album is a sincere illustration of the artist’s perception of love.
16. Crab Day
This is a fun indie pop album filled with music that carries the weight of the world and transforms into enjoyable music.
15. A hope demolition project – PJ Harvey
An album with noble intentions and quite a few gems.
14. Pool - Porches
There is a certain maturity that emanates through their music and it pleases me.
13. Remember To to life – Regina Spektor
Regina Spektor continues to dazzle us with her unqiue, in-your-face style and morbid lyrics.
12. Freetown sound – Blood Orange
Being a gay (or at least queer) man in the black community and a black man in this white community, Devonte Hynes is certainly one to talk about discrimination. He pours his soul into this album, and there's something strikingly genuine about it. The lead single is titled after the similarly tormented author and saint Augustine. This album almost reads like a cry for help. And it's as beautiful as ever.
11. Will – Julianna Barwick
There is a imposing serenity that comes with listening to this album, and that’s not just because of the genre the album belongs to.
10. Long Way Home - Lapsley
Lapsley has very interesting melodies and layered music. Those two factors combined with her sweet voice made her album once of the best revelations of 2016.
9. Not to disappear - Daughter
To be completely honest, I haven’t listened to this album since the first half of the year, but that’s more due to forgetfulness rather than anything else. In this album, Daughter do what they do best, a simple and efficient Alternative pop (an bordering on rock) album.
8. Church – Kelsey Lu
Kelsey Lu is the musical discovery for me this year. She has a wide spectrum of musical influences and they shine through her music.
7. Aftertouch – Princess Chelsea
Princess Chelsea is known for her unique style and that has extended to the covers she recorded for this album.
6. Skeleton tree – Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds
Upon listening to this album, I was simultaneously elevated by the ethereal melodies and brought back down to earth by his resonating voice. A journey you don't want to miss out on.
5. Hopelessness - Anohni
Grief and hope are the choice that Anohni's being faced with here.
4. Sremmlife 2
Rae Sremmurd managed to incorporate enjoyable melodies into their rap music without fully commercializing their sound (as opposed to other rap artists like Florida), and it’s impressive
3. Altar
On The Altar, Jillian Banks asserts her womanhood and her pride in pertaining to womanhood. What might seem like a trivial lyric at first is really the manifestation of bent up oppression, wether it be conscious or unconscious.
2. The Colour In Anything
Focusing more on the lyrics than his previous albums, James Blake produced a rather thorough, yet efficacious, exposé of a relationship that clearly left more than a mark in him.
1. Anti
Rihanna's music has always expressed a wide spectrum of emotions, and it's more accentuated on Anti than ever. She doesn't announce the sentiment at hand in order to subsequently recite some poem about it. The feelings are more sporadic, as they usually are. She's rebellious but secretly vulnerable. She's strong but not so secretly insecure. No human being is devoid of contradictory qualities and Rihanna embraces it very well. There's more to feminism and womanism than acknowledging it, and Rihanna just goes that extra mile.

13. Someday Come - LUH
12. True Disaster - Tove Lo
11. Operator (He doesn’t call me) - Lapsley
10. Ministry of Defence - PJ Harvey
There is something really anthemic and badass about this song.
9. Come As You Are - Princess Chelsea (Nirvana cover)
Princess Chelsea gives her unique spin on the song and she makes it more melancholic than ever.
8. Small Bills - Regina Spektor
The pace of the song is hectic and the lyrics are absurdly terrifying. It works,
7. 4 Degrees - Anohni
A justified state of simultaneous anger and complacency emanates from this song.
6. Time - Kelsey Lu
The black kate bush
5. To The Hilt - Banks
Terribly sad song. Banks excels when accompanied with a piano.
4. Burn The Witch - Radiohead
Relevant metaphor in this day and age. Smart video and song. Lovely climax.
3. Choose Me - James Blake
As harrowing as love lyrics can be.
2. Kiss It Better - Rihanna
She won.
1. Augustine - Blood Orange
Dev Hynes is the king of upbeat songs with depressing melodies.
10 best TV shows
10. Gilmore Girls (Netflix)
I actually watched the whole thing in 2016. The show resonated a lot with me. I finished it a few months before the revival was happening so I was really excited. However, while I did generally like the reboot, I was somewhat disappointed with some of the aspects and how some of the characters were portrayed [with roaring failures].
9. Divorce (HBO)
Seeing SJP on HBO was a really nice surprise. The show has some kind of cinematic quality to it. It is funny and I like marital dramas involving adults.
8. Insecure (HBO)
Now, I liked this from the first episode but it just kept getting better and better. She managed very well to portray the life of a Black Woman in a big city.
7. Orange Is The New Black (Netflix)
This season was really heartbreaking. I feel like this keeps transitioning more and more into a full-fledged Drama. For the first time though, I can't stand piper.
6. Girls (HBO)
I feel like this show will forever be underrated. Lena continues to show us her unique and funny take on things accompanied with a refreshingly smart dialogue.
5. Bates Motel (A&E)
The creators of the show went all out this season and so did Vera Farmiga with an incredibly solid performance. The show cemented its status as one of the best shows of the decade.
4. Game Of Thrones (HBO)
Somehow, this show keeps finding new ways to outdo itself, proving its vehement haters and doubters wrong repeatedly. It is very cool to be a contrarian and hate this show in 2016 but it is even cooler to have a show be consistently amazing and boundary pushing for 6 seasons in a row.
3. Togetherness (HBO)
It is so sad that this show was cancelled. The second season picked up where the first one left off in terms of ascent in quality. Again, I love dramas about matrimonial problems and it was executed very well in this case.
2. Transparent (Amazon)
The first episode alone gave me goosebumps that'll last a year. This show continues to portray the struggles of the LGBT community in a unique and cathartic way.
1. Rectify (Sundance TV)
Rectify's dialogue is even more riveting this season. Aden Young's performance is even stronger this season. Some of the scenes of him discussing her turmoil require some serious skills. If you haven't watched this gem of a show, I really recommend that you do.

Forward is alright, it just recently grew on me. Superlove was also another big grower.
Agree w/ Don't Wanna Know, what a boring disappointment. Private Show is pretty messy.
Poor Sia and Nicki Though I didn't care for Black Barbie either
Million Reasons and 24K Magic being here

I'd definitely put Don't Wanna Know as a number one contestant for worst song of the year, Private Show goofiness is kinda cute at least.

Can't say I disagree with any of them outside of 24K (people do entirely too much on it )
Also, never bothered to listen to Good to Love so I'm not sure if I disagree on that.
