Welcome to my first ever Best of... countdown! My only rule: Max of 2 songs (1 song on the throwback chart) and 1 album per artist. There may be a couple exceptions to this rule, but not many.
CATEGORIES:
(Pre-2014 albums/songs that I listened to a lot this year)
Katy B - Aaliyah (ft. Jessie Ware)
Katy B's sophomore effort, Little Red, is such a great album. Every song on it is a masterpiece, and Aaliyah is by far one of my favorites. I am shocked at how incredibly overlooked it is by the fans (and, of course, the GP)! Katy's powerful vocals mixed with Jessie Ware's soothing, soulful vocals make this song one of the best of the year.

Halsey - Hurricane
Newcomer Halsey literally came out of nowhere and slayed a bunch of veterans with this song. Her sound is very refreshing and chill, and her voice is subtle yet strong. She deserves all of the success she will inevitably get. Be sure to buy (or download) her debut EP 'Room 93' on iTunes now! xoxo

Lil' Debbie - Fleek
Lil' Debbie gets so much **** on this website, but she is honestly one of the best female rappers out there right now. I'm not even joking. The moment I saw the song title, I knew it would be one of the best/biggest ratchet anthems of the year, and it definitely was. 'Fleek' made me give her music a second chance. You all need to acknowledge that Lil Debbie is actually pretty good.

In This Moment - Bloody Creature Poster Girl 'Bloody Creature Poster Girl' is a track from heavy metal band In This Moment's fifth album, Black Widow. This song is a perfect crossover between their signature hard rock sound and a more listenable pop style. I'm not much of a metal/rock fan, but I'm in love with their music. Maria Brink (the lead singer) is so talented.
#52
Jess Glynne - Home
Everything Jess Glynne touches becomes gold, and this is no exception. This is such a perfect song. I really wanted to put it on the top fifty countdown, but it just falls a bit short compared to all of the other songs. Everything about his song is so appealing, and it still sounds new after listening to it so much.
