Over the last few years, has your musical taste changed? If so, how? And why?

It's wider than it was. I have met new people and I now go to a performance school(high school)for Vocal Music.

So, so much over the years.

And I'm thankful as hell for it.

I can now tolerate Rock, Dance, Pop and Electronica. But R&B, Soul and Hip Hop will always be my favorites.

Yes, thanks to Lady Gaga. I was 18 and clubbing, so my music taste at that time was only electro/house etc.
Before her I only listened to Amy Winehouse, Rihanna, Beyoncé and the top 40 pop singles (whatever was "hot").

Now that I've become a pop music fan, I listen to everything and everyone. Also other genres, too.

My musical taste has always been very diverse, so I wouldn't say it's changed.

I've always loved pop. It's been my priority. But.. on the side of that, I always get into other genres as well. I went through a hip-hop phase, a rock phase, a heavy metal/emo-screamo phase and then an electronic music phase, which I'm still into right now. Pop will always be what I love most though.

It grew alot. Every year I seem to be obsessed with one genre of music.

2009- it was Italo Disco
2010-
2011- it was pop
2012- It seems to be R&B and Hip hop

Somewhat. My fave genre still remains folksy, country like songs.

No, it's been the same for as long as I can remember. All the songs I've loved in the past, I still love today. And I've always been open to every genre and every language.

YES. I used to ONLY listen to indie music. I thought people that listened to pop/anything mainstream were so basic, even though I had been a pop junkie to it up until I was 12

Eventually I got back into pop music, though, and I'm glad I did. Now I just listen to a mixture of indie, hip hop, rock and pop.

I used to listen to only mainstream pop/Top 40 but now I listen to pretty much everything.

Last year the change was rather radical. I started to explore more styles of electronic music and got into more rock and indie.

Three factors made the changes:
1) Arcade Fire's Grammy nomination.
2) NoiseTrade, a website were independent musicians give their music away for free and tip them.
3) Being a Gaga fan. I feel like being a fan of hers pushed me to listen to different stuff that was not pop.

It's changed a lot. I used to just listen to Top 40 and whatever my parents put on the radio.
After I started stanning for Gaga, I began to expand my music taste.

I give everything a chance now, except Heavy Metal

Before I was only into popular music.

Then I started getting into more unknowns (whom I hope get popular)

Drastically.

I used to only listen to country. Then pop came into my life. Now I'm kinda getting into the (mainstream) alternative stuff a bit while also getting into older music.

Joining twitter + ATRL was such a great thing for me; I wouldn't know Adele, Springsteen, Kylie, Cher, Florence, Natalia Kills, Lana, Madonna (well, MDNA), fun, BoB, or so many other artists if it weren't for the social networking.

10 years ago, I would listen to anything. Literally anything. My mother had such eclectic musical taste, and we were into the same kind of music for the longest time.

5 years ago, I would only listen to pop music. Nothing but Britney, Madonna, Rihanna, and other female artists.

Over the last two years, I began exploring different genres. I went from listen to **** like Jeffree Star and Millionaires () a few years ago to listening to a variety of different artists. I think that the last year has really been a major breakthrough in my musical taste. I would NEVER have been here for artists like Iamamiwhoami, Hole, The XX, M.I.A., Azealia, Santigold, Grimes, etc years ago.

The main reason for my musical taste changing so much is because I've grown up alot. I'm no longer interested in dancing to songs about ****ing somebody in a club. I like my music a little more meaningful.

In middle school I used the radio for all my music. I started to get into pop and loved Gaga, Brit, and Katy's albums. Then my friend was playing a song I never heard before, and it was off Nicki's Beam Me Up Scotty. I got INTO that ****, and downloaded all of her mixtapes and waited for PF to drop. Since then I've gotten into hip-hop more and really enjoy it.

I still use pop when I'm in the mood though.

I've always been listening to everything. A bit change is from mostly Hard-Rock to Jazz, also starting to get deep into Country/Bluegrass since the last 4 years.
