This trilogy, it's fiction right? What's it about?

It is a historical fiction. The first two books in a nutshell: Two sister slaves from Rhode Island are
supposed to be freed when their Mistress dies, but her nephew sells them to a cruel couple from New York City. This couple is Loyalist (sided with Britain, but you knew that.
). The older sister (narrator) meets a male slave of a Patriot (sided with Colonists). She starts spying on her master and transporting secret information to the Patriots. Homegirl's new Master's wife is an evil bitch. Younger sister gets sold. Older sister is PISSED. Yadda yadda yadda. End of the book, Older sister and Patriot slave escape from New York to New Jersey.
They break up in New Jersey. The second book is from the POV of the Patriot slave. It's about his experience as a Patriot soldier at Valley Forge during the winter. His old master finds him. Ironically, his old master now owns homegirl. Yadda yadda. The two of them escape at the end of the book and they are now
together.
Haven't read the third book yet.
