Blue Jeans was way too deep in the beginning, and quite a few other flaws too. This was not the business, even though the bridge was amazing. She should have done Born To Die instead though.
I think she was trying to experiment with her voice, probably because some people said that her previous performances have been monotonous, but your very first major live performance in the US ever is not the time and place to do that.
