If she tries to go pop, she'll lose her Tumblr audience (which is already not as strong as it was this time last year)
If she keeps her Badlands sound, no radio format will play her so it will only sell to her fans, stall after the second week and spawn no hits
If she somehow does something exactly in the middle and finds a sound and image that is mainstream friendly without looking like what the Tumblr crowd would deem a sellout, she might have a successful era. Slim chances imo
If her album has a similar sound as Badlands then no. But if she goes fully pop which I highly doubt, then maybe, although she'd lose her main audience.
But also, most of her fanbase likes closer so a poppier sound could help. Badlands had pop songs like Roman Holiday, Colors and those are the fan favorites.
