10. Angel Taylor
Angel has such a beautiful voice and one of the few folk/soul singers that I like to listen to. Her debut album "Love Travels", was released March 31st. iTunes named it the best pop album of 2009 even.
Link. I wish this young lady best of luck in the future and can't wait to see her on the Vh1 Top 20 Countdown on January ?, 2010. (The date is messed up over there.) My favorite song from her so far is Chai Tea Latte.
9. Gary Go
Gary has a very unique voice that caught me off guard because of his appearance. I'm proud to say nerds of the world unite. His debut self-titled album was released on May 26st, though I don't own yet, has many great songs including his debut single Wonderful. Wonderful was named best pop song of 2009 by iTunes. He along with Angel and Lady Gaga, all of which are new artist, dominate the pop section of the best of 2009 iTunes chart. Currently Wonderful is my favorite song by him.
8. Jessie James
Jessie was a huge shocker for me. I'm a fan of only a few country singers, but Jessie made the cut and has found a place him my liking. Her debut self-titled album was released August 11, 2009, which included her singles Wanted, My Cowboy, and my favorite I Look So Good (Without You). I'm a little worried about what her next album wondering what her sound will be like, but I be she'll find a way to keep me hooked.
7. The Script
The Irish have invaded my countdown with their soft spoken and heart-felt band The Script. Their debut self-titled album, which was released on March 17, 2009 in the U.S., has so many good songs that help me calm down when ever I'm having problems at school or at home. My top three songs of theirs would have to be If You See Kay, We Cry, and their current single in the U.S. Breakeven; which also it their first song to debut on the Hot 100.
6. Gabriella Cilmi
This young lady has such a beautiful voice that truly makes me feel fuzzy inside. After I bought her debut album, Lessons to be Learned, I discovered that this Australian beauty is only one year older than me, born the exactly the same day just a year apart. Gabie's album is the only one of the first five to be released in 2008. It features many great songs including Sweet About Me, Sanctuary, Save the Lies, and Got No Place to Go. She proceeds two Australian artist who would have been on this countdown if I was here last year; Lenka and Delta Goodrem. I am currently waiting for her next album, hopefully going to be released next year.
