Adele’s 21 could be heading back to number one in the UK for the first time since mid-July thanks to BBC One screening her Royal Albert Hall concert on New Year’s Day.
The XL release, which has already enjoyed 18 non-consecutive weeks at the top and was the biggest-selling album of 2011 in the UK, US and worldwide, has opened up a lead of around 4,000 sales in the week so far, according to the Official Charts Company. Her first album 19 is also on the rise again with sales up 217% on the week to move it from 40 on last Sunday’s chart to 17th position for the week to date.
