If anything, the R&B singers paved the way for Lady Gaga lol.
Not to mention, Robin Thicke is currently in the process of having a hit bigger than anything Lady Gaga could dream of having with an R&B song.

We'll see If Robin Thick will have a 6.9M selling single in the USA and even If he accomplish this. he'll never ever get close to getting 14, 12, and 2 10M and 2 9M singles WW Your argument couldn't have been more invalid ..
And yes she bring back the dance music back ... atleast in the USA ... Rihanna's only dance hit was DSTM and It's not nearly as successful as Just Dance/Poker Face + Kylie isn't big in the USA at all only Madonna's COATF was real dance pop music but It wasn't as successful as TF/TFM too but still Madonna kinda paved Gaga's way with Dance POP but this was 2004 you know ...
And yes she ended some careers not only of R&B artists cough Christina cough
