The State of Fuse in 2007
How did Fuse go in 2007? Well, at the start of the year, Fuse was still churning up all the hits (mostly rock), and their logo at the top right and in motion, just like the pre-2005 MTV2. Then in Mid-to-Late February 2007, Fuse's on-air logo changed to a still logo, but still in the top-right corner. In March,
WKUK and
Rad Girls came to the channel... and the former was well-liked, and now on IFC (uncensored), and the latter is in reruns on Fuse. But in April 2007, disaster hit, because
Felicity came to air on Fuse, signaling it an extension of WE-- rememer, Fuse is
not a dumping place for WE programs such as
Daddy's Little Spoiled Girl or
Cheerleader U... it's a music channel for heaven's sakes!
Oven Fresh was on a month hiatus during this time. But the bright side of the April 2007 Disaster at Fuse, was the introduction of
The Sauce, hosted by Smith and Holly Hannula, and was later joined by Jared Cotter. (As of now, Hannula has left Fuse, leaving Smith and Cotter as hosts.) When May 2007 came, Fuse's on-air logo was moved to the bottom right corner, except for
Oven Fresh, WKUK, Loaded, and the #1 Countdown shows, which still have the Fuse logo at the top right corner due to their show banners occupying the southeast portion of the screen.
Oven Fresh came back,
Felicity was thankfully dropped, and Fuse was starting to get back to its mostly musical roots. In June 2007, Fuse aired anime shows such as
Ergo Proxy and
Tehnjo Tenje. In the Fall of 2007, Fuse debuted
Planet Rock, acquired the syndication rights to
Later... with Jools Holland.
Henry Rollins Show, albeit with censors, came to the network, and was already on IFC-- without censors, and sometime in November 2007, Fuse modified its chyrons a bit, keeping the 3-line Artist, Song, and Album, with the inclusion of "more music at www.fuse.tv" on the bottom-most line, or the 4th line.
Ex.1 (Fuse chyrons, 2003-Nov. 2007)
Velvet Revolver
"The Last Fight"
Libertad
Ex. 2 (Nov. 2007-)
Avril Lavigne
"Hot"
The Best Damn Thing

Now back to Fuse and its happenings: the
Videos That Rocked The World specials were better than expected, and the
25 Greatest Videos That Rocked The World was good too, but not without controversy. In Decmeber, Steven Smith, host of
The Sauce and
SURS was part of a holiday clip called "Christmas Faced" on the 12.12.2007 episode of
The Sauce. Talking Metal was created to fill the metal void previously occupied by
Uranium, who was hosted by Mistress Juliya, who left Fuse around February 2006. Another Anime show came to Fuse in 2007, and it is
Petite de la Cosette. Finally, 30STM won the Fuse Best of 2007 Challenge. Movies joined Fuse earlier this year, and they are usually not music-related, unlike VH1.
PODO is still on the airwaves, so time for Fuse to give the ****ing axe to it.
Predictions for Fuse in 2008:
SURS will stay put.
The Sauce will stay put.
Oven Fresh will stay put.
Rad Girls will not air on Fuse.
PODO will be cancelled.
Fuse will go back to its pre-April 2007 state, and that includes more music, and less stupid ****, instead of being like MTV.
Paramore will win the Fuse Best of 2008 Challenge.
Henry Rollins and Later... with Jools Holland both will stay on.
Anime will have less airtime.
Daddy's Little Spoiled Girl, Cheerleader U., and any other show that WE is also airing will be off of Fuse by March 2008.
Fuse will hire 2 new VJs,
Fuse will have a daily voting countdown show, similar to the pre-October 2007 era of TRL.
WKUK will come back to air.
