The worst dancers I've seen were generally those with the really simple and cheesy routines (remember a routine is just a sequence of moves you use for something, it doesn't mean there is a choreographer involved, it can do and that doesn't make it less good - look at Janet Jackson or Timberlake). But yeah, cheesy moves meant for little kids to follow but then you realise it's because the people can't dance either - e.g. Atomic Kitten or the Sugarbabes, who try to make it look like they're just doing their own thing and look terrible at it. Also, Victoria Beckham, Geri, Emma (the moves from the Sweet Charity movie were made better because that routine involves other dancers moving assymetrically behind you) the boys from Blue, Westlife, Boyzone (you can see I don't generally keep up with poppy pop
).
Also, one thing really grates me about the 'booty shake' that Beyonce made famous in CIL - so many people do that move now and do it wrong, they move the arms backwars and forwards linearlly in front of them whilst moving their butt and hence their upper body, which in turns works or 'helps' them to move the rest of the body when it's supposed to be focused on the lower body. Moves like that are supposed to show that you can move body parts somewhat independantly of others (much like belly dance where you have body part seperation or synchonricity with each bit doing it's part and forming a flow of movement which is the opposite of many Ballroom dances for example) and the arms are just out abit for balance to make sure your not leaning in one direction too much and fall over or something - and she just moves them up in the video as part of the move to look good. But everywhere else, even with professional/backup dancers, they all using their arms as if it's an integral part of the move - like they should be moving the butt up and down and their arms in and out at the same time - but that's just too much, it's supposed to be more subtle then that instead of looking like you're trying to attack someone from front and behind you. That move is to show your 'prowess' (as it were) at being able to move your butt. But anyway, it just bothers me when I see people doing it like that, even if it does look funny at times
But hey, I guess people just evolved it.
