The 35th (I believe?) Annual Pazz & Jop Poll, a polling of all alternative music critics/journalists, comes out tomorrow. (It's pretty much the most important music related poll to happen in any given year).
You can see the past 34 (give or take) years here.
This year should be pretty interesting - there's been no Rehab, no Umbrella, no Crazy, no Since U Been Gone - a pop hit that everyone, from mainstream fans to underground heads, loved. The biggest song of the year (unfortunately, I Kissed a Girl) is (quite rightly) roundly hated by anyone with a working brain, so I don't expect it to make the top ten. (Although, there should be enough people who love to be "different" to propel it into the top 40). Disturbia is liked, but it wasn't as huge - or loved - as Umbrella. Single Ladies? Might've been released too late. So who takes it?
Discuss, predict, et cetera.
