What she was originally saying is that she has to be the male sex in order to be of the highest power.
You'll notice since 2011, Knowles-Carter has portrayed herself as a powerful, almost untouchable (literally) black person. She has the same techniques as the Royal family and the Obamas.
This is a direct message to any racist, sexist bigot that ever thought a black woman couldn't and would never be treated with the highest respect, much like any key member of those aforementioned families would be. In doing this she has forced the entertainment industry to accept her chosen schedule, how she releases music, not wanting to comply with certain procedures, etc.
I would regard Beyoncé as a hypocrite if she didn't behave the way she does. Others see the way she works as a flaw, which is a shame because they completely miss the point.
