Most; Adele. Theyre clearly all auto-biographical and nobody else could write those words from the heart.

Least; Rihanna. I say Rihanna because I have noticed a lot of different names in her credits.


It's important to remember that artists make a lot of their money from record sales via publishing royalties so its crucial they have their name on the credits. But it could be as little as one word in truth.

BTW I dont have a problem with pop singers not writing their lyrics as long as they dont make big false claims.

Britney has co-written every track she's recorded. Songwriters have said before that she doesn't take credit unless she wrote the song from scratch, which is what real artists do. Respect.

Taylor Swift wrote every single word on her last album, no co-writers.

Adele/Florence/etc (all the alternative-ish pop stars mentioned on this website) along with Gaga, Madonna, Ke$ha, etc. seem to all write their own songs.

Katy seems like a genuine songwriter to me, but I always notice people like Bonnie McKee in her writing credits, which suggests otherwise. Also Dr. Luke is a songwriter as well.

Beyonce, Rihanna - both seem to have the odd writing credit, but aren't noted for their songwriting abilities.

Britney wrote a bunch of songs from In The Zone and her song Scary from FF too, all of which were pretty good. I have no idea why her label doesn't let her write any more songs

Katy Perry writes or co-writes all her songs, check you facts
