"Maroon 5's video for "Animals" is a dangerous depiction of a stalker's fantasy — and no one should ever confuse the criminal act of stalking with romance," said Katherine Hull Fliflet, RAINN VP of Communications.
"The trivialization of these serious crimes, like stalking, should have no place in the entertainment industry."

People are over reacting. Jesus, if this was one of the pop girls who released people would be talking about how innovative and Grammy worthy the video/song is.
So you guys were okay with Xtina killing men in Your Body, Katy Perry casting spells on men she did not like in Dark Horse and objectifying them etc. but the minute a male artist objectifies a woman in any way, you guys freak out. Besides the song is about real things that exist. Stalkers do exist, and no way does the song imply that it's okay to be one. He's just playing a role.
I don't think it's ever been good reasoning to allow something to happen just because there's a large group of people who like it. Lots of comparisons you can draw there.
I just watched the video and I can't put into words creepy it is. Specially the (hopefully unintentional) metaphor of him being a butcher who preys after a woman.
