Welcome to my 2010 countdown to the best song of the year. For the 4th year, I will be posting my favorite 150 songs to be released in late 2009-2010. As always, my countdown is a great mixture of hip-hop, pop, indie rock, and others. Before we start this years countdown, let's look back at the Top 10 from last year.

The countdown begins tomorrow with songs #150-#141, and like every year, 10 songs will be posted up until we reach the #1 song of the year on December 31st. Since this years list saw a record 300+ songs competing for a spot, many songs made great impressions throughout the year but not good enough to make the list. The Final Word
Yes...that's a country song not by Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood on the countdown. It's a decent song that I decided to give a chance and it made it. Nothing wrong with expanding to other genres. The Bike Song is a song getting more attention by the day, it wouldn't surprise me to see it in next years countdown. Countdown favorite John Legend teams up with the Roots, Common, and Melanie Fiona to bring us Wake Up Everybody. Although it is a good song, it failed at bringing me back over and over, which is crucial for a song to do, and only landed at #148. After hitting #1 in 2008, Flobots returned with White Flag Warriors but it was predictable track from them. And finally, a better-late-than-never push for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in the past couple weeks helps them land at #147 with Skeleton. Although Zero and Heads Will Roll made the countdown in 2009, it wasn't until recently that I saw how great these tracks were. That helped gain the interest in Skeleton, which although boring, still an album favorite.
