with Disney's ever present support of gay rights and belief that equality is the answer to a brighter tomorrow and endless dreams there comes a time when you ask yourself… when will my story be depicted in a film? When will our dreams be heard and our hearts be touched? We grew up with Cinderella losing her shoe while running from her prince charming but we never get to actually see we as gay (and lesbians & trans & bi) as the main plot points. Us finding love or fighting the big bad and conquering all in the name of love, family, friends or happiness.
so my question is, when will Disney do the unthinkable and take a risk and make a gay animated film that stands the test of time?
Of course I'd love to see it happen but I doubt it will happen anytime soon. Hopefully when I have my own kids, so they grow up in a more tolerant and accepting world.
