According to Nielsen, the broadcast window for The Wiz Live! saw a 74% increase in tweets with the word "racist" from the previous 3-hour block, mostly centered around the concept of an all-black cast. The upside is that the backlash was a small percentage of the overall social media buzz. Of all tweets pertaining to the broadcast, 30 percent were designated positive, 58 percent neutral, and only 13 percent negative.
