iTunes does everything I need from a music player.
foobar2000, MusicBee even Clementine.
Personally I've been using foobar2000 for years and i'm very happy with it. It includes very useful built-in tools and it has tons of plugins. It's also very customizable.
Maybe it's improved over the years then. someone else said the newest version is pretty fast.
whatever works
I just absolutely love this album view option. It's easy to spot the albums and you have full access to them without having to click anything else like in other views. It's also easy to go through your library when in "Songs" mode, because clicking any letter (or a couple) of the alphabet gets you to the artist you want. It's just too convenient and great looking.

I think I tried foobar in the past. It looks absolutely atrocious. 90s design and terribly arranged by artist with all those pluses (+) to collapse etc. Naah...

Does the latest version of "foodbar" have Cover Flow?
I really miss cover flow from the earliest versions of iTunes.

Why? It's so impractical. And I guess that's where the complaints for slowness come from, because it was really slow in that mode having to load oversized album artworks for everything.
