News: Boy, 12, tried to bomb Christmas market in Germany

Focus magazine cited security and judicial sources as saying the boy was "strongly radicalised" and apparently instructed by an unknown IS member.
The Federal Public Prosecutor's Office declined to comment on a possible IS link, but confirmed officials were investigating the case.

Exactly. He's not 5. By 12 you understand the concept of death, and why it's wrong to kill people. (Pretty sure you do way earlier than 12, but whatever). In most laws, a child is considered to act responsibly at around 7, even though penal sanctions can only be applied to children latter in most cases. (because most laws consider it's not the right way to treat young criminals not because they're not responsible)
