With Blurred Lines being like the biggest song ever, and Lady Gaga releasing her lead single soon, it will likely get blocked. Do you think Interscope will deliberately start trying to make Blurred Lines fail, so that Lady Gaga can debut at #1?

It sounds ridiculous, but this isn't the first time this has happened. We all remember their sneaky games to sabotage Flo Rida/Ke$ha the week before Boom Boom Pow got released so Gaga could get a week at #1.

Interscope are in charge of Blurred Lines, so it will be easier for them to sabotage.

It's likely going to begin making its decline by the time that lady gaga's song comes out anyway.

What happened here ?

Interscope paid iTunes a sum of money to get them to delete Right Round from iTunes.

If Right Round didn't get deleted, then it would've got another week at #1, and Poker Face would've been left with a #2 peak. That week was its last chance for Poker Face, since Boom Boom Pow was getting released the following week (to start its 12-week run at #1).

Didn't Poker Face stay 2 weeks at #1 tho?

Blurred Lines will die down before Gaga's lead single is released... I think.

Well, I think Blurred Lines will be peaking on Pop and Rhythmic radio before Gaga releases anything. By then, the song's lead on iTunes should be dying down, thus making it easier for Gaga to overtake and DOMINATE.

No, it only got a week. I think that was the week that R.O.O.T.S. was released, however. Or just after.

"Poker Face" only got a week at #1.

I forgot which song (was it "Right Round"?), but whatever song was removed from iTunes for awhile, which gave "Poker Face" the edge. Had it not been for that, "Poker Face" would have stayed at #2.

I doubt very seriously it'll still be making huge gains 5 weeks from now.

And it'll probably begin descending down the Itunes chart, probably within the top 5 or 10, by the time the song is released.

I don't think Gaga's going to be debuting at #1 anyway. By the time it has a chance at #1, Blurred Lines should be dropping rapidly.

Even if the song doesn't go #1 in its first sales weeks, Interscope/Gaga will hardly look at it as the song's "last chance".

Some of you don't seem to grasp how big Blurred Lines is. Firstly, it's not even peaked yet, but lets say that last week was its peak and it started falling, even if it drops like 5% every week from now its still going to have huge points by the time Gaga's single gets released. It was 70% ahead of Get Lucky this week, and Get Lucky itself is pretty huge.

They're not going to kill off a successful single to get a meaningless #1, it's about money not bragging rights.

They get the bragging rights either way. It would look bad for Gaga's comeback single to get blocked, though.
