Is this anything like Skeletal Lamping? I appreciated a few of their early albums, and HFAYTD? was okay, but SL is the only one I could actually enjoy.

This album could've done with a little more Let's Relate/Nursing Slopes/Trashed Exes and a little less My Fair Lady/Les Chants de Maldodor. Why tease a new sound (which is actually quite good) and then have half of the album sound like Aureate Gloom leftovers?
The second half is much stronger, so at least there's that.

Trashed exes is my least favourite. My fair lady is miles better than that imo

My Fair Lady is a good song on its own but I feel like it just interrupts what could/should have been a fairly singular sound renovation. The new sound reminds me of the first half of Death Is Not A Parallel Move (which is a great thing) and it feels weird having the more psych-rock songs in there too.
