Please don't equate the black civil rights movement with the LGBT rights movement. Gay/transgender people were not enslaved or segregated from the rest of society.

But to not stray too far off topic, Carson suffers from severe foot-in-mouth syndrome and this has been known for awhile now even among Republicans. The tip of the iceberg was when he said there would have been no Holocaust if the Jews had guns.

And to think this man was one of the leading neurosurgeons in the country...smh.

Even if it's only "a few people who are abnormal" (which is just ignorant to say), why can't we have basic rights?

I was hesitant to say anything because I knew someone would say something like this. Never did I say the two things were equal, nor am I trying to equate them. But the idea of a group of people being barred from certain rights is the same, even though this is nowhere near as wide-scaled or detrimental as what African Americans faced many years ago.
