Hmmm, maybe i'm just too innocent but I just don't believe that people sit there and deliberately try to copy things from past artist because they want to steal them. I believe in inspiration, but idk the whole copy cat business I just don't think it's as true or dramatic as people make it seem to be. But it's true that there are other artist that are really inspired by Madonna as well, not just Gaga.

First of all, Christina always mentions her inspirations, and has praised Madonna plenty of times for being a true innovator and risktaker, for paving the way for a lot of current female pop artists. She even mentioned in the behind the scenes of NMT that she wanted to pay homage to Express Yourself. Look it up.

Second, you're really reaching with most of the comparisons you just made. I mean, seriously, Makes Me Wanna Pray and Like a Prayer for crying out loud? I won't even comment on the rest, because following that logic, then I guess could say GMAYL is like Bionic.

An homage is when an artist like Christina, Katy, Ke$ha, Britney reference Madonna.
A ripoff is when Lady Gaga does it.


Not trying to say Christina, Katy, Ke$ha, or Britney have done this, but I'm just saying that if they ever do it'll be seen as an homage. But if Gaga does it, it's immediately seen as a ripoff.

But rocking fake blood and breaking glass on stage was very Madonna. Christina didn't make an entrance in the music business paying homage to Madonna. It wasn't until her second album she decided to be provocative, take risks and shock people like Madonna did.
