With the amount of awards, sales and hype that surrounded it, did it really live up to its ratings quality wise?



Personally, I don't find it interesting it all. I consider it to be pretty bland musically and thematically, and overrated. I think it confirmed to me, having a powerful voice is useful but it's not the end all and be all. Someone like Mariah covers both fields of powerful vocals and great songwriting, in my opinion.

So. Was it a consistent album? Great the whole way through? Or is it the cling-to album for some because of its success?

I hear it being referred to as a classic and I just cannot agree.

Do you even consider 21 to be a good album? Do you enjoy it outside of its singles?

Yes. It's a terrible album aside from SLY and Turning Tables.

Yes it is. Most of her songs followed a generic formula , and the majority of the tracks have not stood the test of time. It was only highly praised because it served as a nice breather from the generic and shallow EDM tracks. She was writing about something real and that also gave her an edge.
