I used to stan so hard for LAFS when I was 11. I even bought the Fever album so that I wouldn't have to wait to hear it on TRL every day when it came in around #7-10. I freaked out when it went to #3 once I'm guessing the reason I was instantly attracted to Tik Tok was because that old synth was already in the back of my mind as a pleasant part of my childhood.
They're melodically similar (in a way), but otherwise they couldn't be more disparate.
The synth in the chorus of Tik Tok is one of the only reasons I ever gave a **** about it, and it was lifted from a song that I stanned for in 2002. Obviously that was a long time ago, and I had forgotten about LAFS, so I'm wondering if subconsciously, the reason I loved Tik Tok was because of LAFS. Just an interesting thought.
