The Wanted could be dropped by their record label due to poor album sales, a new report has claimed.
'Word of Mouth' has sold only 40,000 copies in the UK, and currently stands around 75 in the music charts six weeks after release.
It was recently announced that their European tour was axed due to "unforseeable changes", but sources tell Daily Star the real reason is low ticket sales.
"Despite high hopes that The Wanted would rival One Direction as worldwide stars, it just hasn't happened," the source explains.
"No final decision has been made, but all promo for the album has been scrapped and no more singles are planned.
"There are also no plans to reschedule the cancelled European tour dates."
One Direction, rivals of The Wanted, have continued to enjoy success ', scoring a UK number one with their latest album 'Midnight Memories. (source)
Are we really surprised? I'm not sure how they've done in their homeland, but they've completely fallen off of the radar since Glad You Came smashed last year.
