The 4th single from "Teenage Dream," also the fourth #1, "E.T." spent 5 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It went on the spend 20 weeks in the Top 10 and 30 weeks on the chart. It managed to spend 2 weeks at #1 on the WW Chart too. Did you expect this to smash so hard? It was huge on radio, and spent 7 weeks at #1 on Digital songs, selling 5.5m+ in the US, 7m+ WW. I remember looking in the threads when I browsed forever. People predicted it to peak only Top 20, or Top 10. Yet it was her 2nd longest #1 from TD & even outsold CG in the US. Did you expect this flawless song to smash so hard?
Definitely. It's a major bop and she was already slaying hard that era, so it was pretty inevitable. Plus at the time it was a massive fan favorite, so Katy Kats were easily on board.
I didn't know the title track would smash so hard.
OT: When Kanye hit the remix, I knew it was a given. Katy was just on a roll. also, i honestly was sort of hoping it would overshadow RITD, but the opposite happened instead...
