Because I know the fact that I hadn't completed my list last year was unbearable to my loyal readers (all 4 of you!) here it is! Now you can all sleep at night!
05. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz
I've always thought that Karen O had an amazing voice, however when I heard they were going a more electronic route, I had my doubts. I thought Karen's voice was made for the type of music they had done on "Fever To Tell" and "Show Me Your Bones." Needless to say, I was shocked by how much I absolutely loved "It's Blitz." Perfect vocals, amazing instrument work, amazing single choices, awesome videos to go along with those singles. "It's Blitz" was definitely a complete package.

04. Rihanna - Rated R
I'll start this by saying that when Rihanna first came on the scene, I had written her off as a flash in the pan. I thought she would eventually fade away like all the other R&B chicks that came out around the same time. She then released the stellar "Good Girl Gone Bad" that made me question my prediction. Now two years later, she releases what is undoubtably her strongest album. Darker and edgier than before, I think Rihanna has found her strength and I hope she keeps it up.

03. Muse - The Resistance
I've been a Muse fan for a while now so I was extremely hyped about this release and they didn't disappoint. It's everything that I loved about Muse before plus a little more. I think they really hit it out of the park in this one.

02. Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavillion
I gotta admit, I never fully understood Animal Collective's appeal. Their music just seemed like a jumbled mess of noise however, with this album it just clicked. The album proves to be a mind trip, literally. It's very easy to get lost in the music with this one, mostly that has to do with the flow of the album. Anyways, thanks to this album, I was able to go back and rediscover their past material and I'm glad I did.

01. Lady GaGa - The Fame Monster EP
I feel like I have a love/hate relationship with GaGa. The way I see it, the more popular she gets, the more annoying she becomes to me and I'm not sure if it's actually her to blame or her "Little Monsters" that praise her every little move. With that said though, I feel "The Fame" was a pretty decent debut album with amazing single choices, and with this extension of it, she really took it to a whole new level musically. Eight songs that could all be potential singles is something most artists strive to do but barely get so I give her that. This album has been on constant replay since it's been released and that's why I consider "The Fame Monster" my favorite album of 2009.
