I don't really think Leona should have the whole year of 2008. Bleeding Love was massive but that was her only really big hit. Katy deserves a year but definitely not over Adele.. and she's not the "it" girl this year. I don't really think there is one this year.. it's all over the place. Katy, Kelly, Adele and Rihanna are the biggest that come to mind this year.

...She had a chance in 2010, but Teenage Dream was released to late in the year for her to be overtake Ke$ha's throne.

Idk, I haven't seen a new IT girl yet this year. And 21 is still the best selling album of 2012, well the last time I checked anyways.

Nearly no new artist has sold any albums this year. (Carly Rae hasn't even released one). The only valid candidate is Lana, but only because nobody else has released anything.
