I thought Spotify was like the iTunes of streaming (in terms of consumer usage)

No, I think Rhapsody is bigger than Spotify (I remember a Billboard article about it).

Also, on Spotify there's lots of different versions of each song (single version, album version, deluxe version, remixes, etc.).

For example, Mercy by Kanye West is at #10, but with the album version added to it, it might be higher overall (it's #4 in the On-Demand chart).

How is Your Body doing?

Rhapsody: over 1,000,000 paying subscribers in the USA
Muve Music: about 750,000 paying subscribers in the USA
Spotify: about 750,000 paying subscribers in the USA + millions free users

Which mean that Spotify have more "streaming" than Rhapsody + Muve Music combined.

I would guess that Spotify probably have at least 5 million free users in the USA on top of 750,000 paid users. Which mean it is the Itunes of streaming.

This is from an indie band but as you can see, Spotify dwarf Rhapsody, Zune, Napster in the # of stream. And this was from 2011. Spotify grew a lot in the last 9 months too.

For every 1 paying user, Spotify probably have 5-7 free users.

This is looking good for Psy. I hope the overall streaming will be huge enough to get that No.1.
