I think Ariana was the closest thing we got but she felt down pretty hard the last year.

All the current A-lists are from the last decade, even if we counted Adele as a pop star she debuted in 2009.

Not everyone is Britney Spears or Lady Gaga.

Nicki is not in the same league as Rih, Bey, Tay, or Katy.

None of the newer pop girls that did debut this year are 'majors' like Rih/Bey/Katy/Tay/Gaga et al.

Most of the newer girls have only accomplished a fraction of what the majors have done in the same timeframe. I blame social media. Social media makes these girls seem like bigger stars then they actually are

Ariana and Meghan are doing well, but when you compare them to eras like BOMT, DIL, GGGB, The Fame, Fearless or OOTB they are very very low
