Border security always asks the reason for entering the country.

Single males travelling alone do tend to arouse suspicion. I often get searched travelling to Germany.

When you are leaving the UK, UK border control is like "Thank God you are leaving. Keep moving." and the French border control is like shutters closed, nobody working here, lights are still off.
