Kelly Clarkson performed at Arizona stadium last night with rapper Jay-Z, where the 27-year-old revealed to the crowd that Already Gone would be the third single from her latest album All I Ever Wanted.

The song will serve as the follow-up to second single I Do Not Hook Up, which has so far peaked at #46 on the Hot 100 but continues to rise. The album itself also continues to sell well, having now surpassed 800k worldwide.

I wanted Cry

I hope this flops and her album starts doing it too.

If they want to release a ballad from this album, Cry is the obvious choice. Already Gone is kinda weird for a Kelly Clarkson song. I don't think that it'll be as big as MLWSWY and IDNHU

I like "Cry" better, but I think with the Tedder influence, "Already Gone" sounds more "pop" and would be more appealing to mainstream radio stations.

But Kelly doesn't need to play that card; radio already love her stuff.

Kelly doesn't have to play that card, but there's a good chance Kelly didn't pick this single and it was chosen because her label wanting to "play it safe". Of course I have no way of knowing that for sure, though.

I like the song, way more than "Cry" and I think that "Cry" would flop so hard, and "Already Gone" is a great choice for the third single, though I wanted "If I Can't Have You". Since the album's release I knew they're gonna release this, just cause it already charted and they want another hit and not another "My December" era.

Cry had a Daughtry's "Home"-ish vibe I thought would rock on radio. I guess they wanted the Ryan Tedder song though.

I don't know why some people are surprised, it was obviously going to be the next single. But for the record, Cry is a million times better

Yeah, I know. Artists never get to choose their own singles anyway unless they're independent or something. I don't know about the playing the safe with Already Gone because I don't like the song that much because it doesn't sound like a Kelly Clarkson song, that what's weird to me...

I don't think Cry would flop, in fact I think it could be way bigger than Already Gone, Cry has way more power as a ballad, AG is just an okay song. And My December only underperformed like that because of the label. Because they refused to promote it properly, If they had at least released something after Sober, it would've reached Platinum for sure.
