Stats: Susan Boyle: 'The Gift' debuts at #1 w/ 478,000 WW

Which is good news for Lou Reed, whose “Perfect Day” is the first single from the Scottish singer’s release.

Swift’s album should benefit from tonight’s CMA awards, while the Boyle album is a certain stocking-stuffer as we head into the teeth of the gifting season.

Universal Motown rap superstar Kid Cudi’s Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager bows with a number between 180-220k, a lock for the #3 position.

Capitol/EMI’s debuting Now 36 is up next, with a total of 80-85k, while Island/IDJ’s Bon Jovi will score 70-75lk with their Greatest Hits—The Ultimate Collection package.

Valory/Big Machine veteran country star Reba McEntire is counting on All the Women I Am to buy between 60-65k of her new release.

Gnarls Barkley and former Goodie Mob moonlighting soul crooner Cee-Lo Green’s New Elektra album, The Lady Killer, rides the viral smash, “**** You,” to between 30-35k, followed by ABR/EMI’s Alter Bridge (24-27k) and Get Money Gang/EMI’s Twista (19-22k).

The market was down 6% vs. last week, down 21% vs. same week last year and still down 13% year to date. You can now resume looking for Bret Favre’s penis text on your iPhone.

Disappointing sales for her in my opinion.

Surprises all around.

1 - Boyle. Obv. she wasn't going to sell 700k. But that's more than a 60% drop off. Disappointing any way you slice it, even if it will be a leggy seller throughout the Holidays. It's redemption may be if it grows in sales over the next few weeks, like Bocelli did.

2 - Swift. If she sells over 250k, that's a pretty spectacular 3rd week drop. And I think her CMA inflation will be higher than predicted.

3 - Kid Cudi with 180-200k? What the what? His first album didn't go that high even with 'Day N Nite' smashing. Devoted fan base indeed.

This isn't that surprising. She was never going to surpass IDAD. I would've predicted at least 300k, though.

The test will come in Dec as Christmas approaches.

I don't think it's that bad considering she had loads of hype last year, but i'm still laughing at the delusionals who when this album was first announced said that it would at least sell 500K.

I never expected her to match the numbers she pulled last year, this record hasn't received half as much hype. She's still going to sell more than a certain California Gurl who had more hype than anyone during the summer.
