Tiziano is a very smart, well-worded, sensitive person.
It's a beautiful interviews that mirrors many others he gave at the time of his actual coming out.
I am happy his sales weren't hurt (it's so wrong to live in a society where your sexual orientation may determine your professional life, regardless of your actual talent at it); that being said, it's also true that his open admission of being gay came when he was a superstar act in practically every market beside USA/UK.
His following is huge and very loyal; millions of people love his music, his stage presence, the fact he is such a sweet, humble guy when you meet him, and the fact all major industry insiders/colleagues truly like him.
Even in Italy (one of the most bigot Country ever) no media dared to mock his reveal; and that certainly helped his profile to not only stay up and shining, but probably even getting bigger.
For sure his new lyrics are even deeper and more lived and true than they were before when he was battling the self-awareness of being gay (he has stated his religious soul was crumbling at the perception of his sexual preferences... it's again SO sad to see how having a belief and faith, instead of helping you in your life and tranquility, can become a nightmare and a trouble to overcome...)
I once more have to thank you for spreading to USA/UK people some pieces of notion about Tiziano.
His life was all but easy (first being an obese kid, then having to live fulfilled with doubts about his sexuality, always without stopping to be adorable) but I strongly believes his music is special JUST because his life was a battle.
It's amazing when a soul remain pure and kind amidst pain.
