That's not even close to necessariy true. Look at Selena's HTL. She's coming off three radio hits and it's still struggling. It really depends on how generic or not your radio hits are and how many consecutive songs like that are release. See: Katy Perry

Kissing' U was Miranda's first radio single ever and did very well. Coming from Nickelodeon was much more difficult than coming from Disney as there was no precedence prior to Miranda.
