Good vocals don't equal success and going places. Otherwise Demi would be far more popular than she is right now. She is extremely lucky that Simon is desperate to corner the tween market and bring ratings to his show.

The Disney stars now would have a hard chance getting the success Miley, Selena and Demi had because the current generation of tweens and teens are not yet over them. May be in some time like 5 years when our generation is off the hook and some new generation's gonna take over.
