Sure, it might be unpopular, but a fundamental part of living in a democratic society is allowing freedom of expression.

And, with freedom of expression, we have the complete freedom not to listen to them, so let's do just that.

Let's be honest here, these are the same rag-tag bunch of people that think contraception for Africa is a BAD THING. When literally millions of Africans die of AIDS. Do you really think any level-headed non-fundamentalist person pays even the slightest bit of adherance to what they say? The majority don't.

And as long as the majority of us still think they chat absolute shite, they'll still be stuck at square one whilst us homosexuals get more and more rights.

The church really does need modernisation, and quick. It needs to learn to be culturally Christian, not fundamentally Christian. Not everything stipulated in a thousands year old book requires literal interpretation. The sorts of things we should take from the bible are spiritual: love for others, forgiveness, respect. Not negative things such as the marginalisation of an entire group of people.

Don't take what one man- one vessel- the Pope- says as gospel, for ****s sake. He's a senile German man. Make like a ****** Lifetime movie and do what your heart says is right.
