People are acting like this is debuting with 87k. 200,000+ is good. She ignored a part of her fanbase and suffered. In all honesty, this is doing more good for Nicki's career overall than bad. It'll challenge her to release music that appeals to both crowds, and how to promote.

But if she can get first week : 200k, then 150k, then 130k, then 100k... Seriously it would be cool.

I'm not going to lie and say I didn't expect a bit more but I honestly think people saying 500k+ were always a bit out there imo.

I think the fact that before she came out with Pink Friday she had HUGE hype, an urban single that had already went to #1 + Black Friday sales are why her debut was so high. This time around she hasn't even had a huge urban hit.

However, I think the biggest hit of this era has yet to even come (VVV). The era is far from over. The sales will definitely remain consistent. Plus, she's going to sell more worldwide with this album too.

i still think it will sell more 1st week but some people need to chill if the sales were below 100k then we would have something to worry about

it can be like the massive attack effect with this era. she'll flop (hopefully not ) & then come back 10x stronger.

The summer has yet to arrive, Starships' video isn't released, and Right By My Side is just starting to take off. She's still gonna go #1, and sales will pick up later if she makes the right decisions. I'm not worried........yet.

You're right. Although I worry that Va Va Voom won't do as well as Super Bass since it isn't as catchy (in my opinion).

It's stupid, but I care a lot about sales and chart performance. Like I was quite upset when TMO and SB both stalled outside of #1.

As long as Nicki learns from this, I guess it will turn out for the best.

Well whether not it'll do AS good as SB is yet to be seen, but I still think it'll be a huge hit. It's hard to get a #1. Top 5 is great! VVV has a #1 chance though I would definitely say. I know she'll keep selling those albums though regardless.

No way there's 400k people who didn't buy the album just because there is some poppy songs on there. I mean really?

Drake had two huge R&B hits when his album was released, Nicki had none. People need to get that through their heads, imo.

Nicki will be earning Lady Gaga-levels of $$$, and that's really only due to her being a popstar. The massive Live Nation tour, her Pepsi deal, her clothing lines, her make up products, etc. She wouldn't have that unless she connected to a mainstream product-buying audience, and she's done that through pop, and will continue to do that all summer.

The album's sales of course matter. But she's doing two worldwide tours - a smaller tour this summer, and then an arena tour. She's already said weeks ago she'll be promoting the album mainly whilst touring, so I reckon it'll do well from that, and even if it doesn't, she'll still make $$$ from the tour. Not small amounts of money, we're talking $40M+.
