It's still not all that popular... And just because someone is visible about their support for gay people doesn't make it any less valuable or mean they're bandwagoning. All support is good and necessary.

Why do you sound defensive? I'm not "shading" anyone if that's what you seem to be implying. I'm simply noting that she wrote a really genuinely sweet letter in 2000; it was not a trend 12 years ago to be so "It Gets Better"-ey. And it is popular today, hundreds of celebrities do now what Fiona did then--which is fantastic, the more the better. Calm down.

Fiona is my idol. Her music has gotten me through so much. I'm so touched by this letter.

It's really not that big in the public eye. People still shun the gays. Just because we have the Madonna, GaGa & Minaj support (if that's what you're hinting at) on the large scale of things it's not a priority to most Americans.

Fiona deserves a 300,000 unit+ album debut.
